Corporate social responsibility

Corporate social responsibility forms an important part of the overall conduct of business. Because of the international spread of the group's activities, the operating companies of Gamma Holding are subject to divergent environmental legislation. The often specific and complex issues in this field are therefore addressed locally. The starting point for our policy on corporate social responsibility is that the companies of Gamma Holding should make a positive contribution to the societies in which they operate.

For example, in the past few years Bekaert Textiles has employed many local unemployed people, housewives and young, inexperienced graduates in the Turkish production site, who were then trained in-house on the basis of a certification system. The business unit is thus successfully contributing to reducing unemployment in the area and at the same time providing the Turkish economy with new, professional workers.
